Judy Burgarella works in oil, watercolor, pastel, acrylic gouache, charcoal and pencil, and sculpture. An award-winning self-taught artist, her natural ability to draw followed her from early childhood, providing a great foundation for serious study of the painting process which she began several years ago. Having moved to Vero Beach, Florida from Clinton, Connecticut in July 2005, she has assimilated herself into the art community on the Treasure Coast and holds memberships in The Vero Beach Art Club, the Sebastian Art Club and the Plein Air Painters of the Treasure Coast. She leaves behind memberships in over a dozen art organizations in Connecticut, one of which she founded herself, the Shoreline Plein Air Painters. Judy has exhibited in numerous one-man shows, group shows and art club shows, and she has been represented in many galleries in Connecticut. She accepts commissions, and offers private art instruction to children and adults. Although skilled in the painting of landscapes, seascapes, still life and animals, her focus for the last few years has been on Historical Native American Indian portraiture. Aside from awards, her Indian portraiture has earned her recognition among other prominent portrait artists. Giclée prints of the images on this website are also available.
